Drawing Error Reporting

Employees will have the ability to report issues they find in the drawings by navigating to the traveler in the portal and selecting the button labeled REPORT DRAWING/DESIGN ISSUE at the top of the Detail tab.

This report will include important information such as who reported it, their location, a description of the issue, how important it is to get resolved and when the reporter needs it resolved.

Engineers

Once a report has been submitted, you will be automatically assigned to the report if you are the engineer that worked on the traveler. You will also receive a notification via email or Telegram depending on the severity of the report. Minor/Cosmetic issues have no notification but are visible in your list of issues under the Drawing Issues tab in the Project Log. It is your responsibility to ensure the issue gets resolved in a timely manner.

Resolving an Error Report

To mark an issue as resolved, please click into the issue itself and select the Mark Resolved button in the top right corner. You will be prompted to explain why the issue occurred and how you solved it, followed by a checkbox that is to confirm you met with the reporter of the issue with a resolution.

Non-Issues

Sometimes, an issue gets reported that was actually intentional design. For situations like this, select the Not an Issue button and fill in the prompt, explaining why this perceived issue is actually intended.

Similarly, if an issue gets reported but is not engineering-related, select the Non-Engineering Issue button. Explain in the prompt why engineering cannot solve this issue and who the reporter of the issue should contact instead.

Modifying an Error Report

As the assignee for the error report, you have the ability to edit certain data. Select the dropdown list to the right of the other actions on the error report page.

The Reassign button is used for reassigning the report to another engineer as well as editing the deadline for the report. This may be useful for situations where the report cannot be finished before the deadline for whatever reason.

The Edit Status button is strictly for changing the status manually, instead of through other action buttons, which may be useful for scenarios where a ticket must be reopened.
